SPOT-MAS 10 is a blood-based multi-cancer screening test designed to screen for signals associated with 10 cancer types from a single blood sample.
The test uses next-generation sequencing (NGS) and molecular analysis of cell-free DNA/ctDNA, combined with artificial intelligence, to analyse cancer-associated biological signals in the blood. MEDLATEC lists the test for periodic screening.
Cancer Types Covered
SPOT-MAS 10 covers:
Breast
Lung
Liver and biliary tract
Stomach
Colorectal
Ovarian
Pancreatic
Esophageal
Endometrial
Head and neck cancers
The head and neck scope does not include brain tumors, orbital tumors, thyroid cancer, or skin cancer of the head and neck.
Test Process
The test requires a blood sample. MEDLATEC's 2026 laboratory catalogue specifies approximately 8–10 mL of whole blood collected in a Streck tube. Results are currently listed at approximately 15 working days after the sample is received, excluding weekends and public holidays.
SPOT-MAS 10 is a screening test and does not by itself establish a cancer diagnosis. Findings requiring further investigation should be followed by appropriate clinical assessment and diagnostic testing.
Key Benefits of SPOT-MAS 10
SPOT-MAS 10 screens for biological signals associated with 10 cancer types from a single blood sample, providing a multi-cancer screening option without requiring separate initial tests for each cancer type.
The test requires only a peripheral blood sample and does not involve invasive procedures such as tissue biopsy. Blood collection takes only a few minutes, making the screening process convenient for international patients and people with limited time.
SPOT-MAS 10 uses molecular technologies to analyse cancer-associated biological signals in blood. According to information published by MEDLATEC, the test has a negative predictive value (NPV) of 99.9% in the referenced screening context.
Instead of undergoing separate initial screening procedures for multiple cancer types, SPOT-MAS 10 provides screening for 10 cancer types through a single blood collection. This can simplify the initial screening process and reduce the time required for multiple separate appointments.
Cancer screening may help identify signals that warrant further medical investigation before symptoms develop. When a result requires further assessment, additional clinical consultation, imaging, endoscopy, biopsy, or other diagnostic procedures may be recommended.
Important: SPOT-MAS 10 is a screening test and does not diagnose cancer. A negative result does not completely exclude cancer, and an abnormal or positive result requires further clinical assessment to establish a diagnosis.
